The New England Association for Play Therapy (NEAPT) is a branch of the Association for Play Therapy, serving mental health professionals in Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. NEAPT promotes the understanding and practice of play therapy through training, research, and support, while also advocating for diversity and the recognition of play therapy in the professional and public realms.
NEAPT collaborates with universities and organizations to offer over 100 hours of APT approved Play Therapy instruction annually throughout New England. They also work with APT to support the credentialing and re-credentialing of Registered Play Therapists, Registered Play Therapy-Supervisors, and School Based-Registered Play Therapists. As a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization, NEAPT is dedicated to advancing the therapeutic powers of play in the field of mental health.
