Wells Rural Electric Company is a nonprofit cooperative, which was incorporated in 1958 to obtain central station power for the rural areas around Wells. Based in Wells, Nev., the cooperative carries out various member programs, including cooperate connections, next dollar foundation and rebates. It promotes energy efficiency and the use of alternate energy resources. Wells Rural Electric Company is energy partners with The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) and Northwest River Partners.
