History
The owner of Flume Trail Bikes, Max Jones cleared the Tahoe Flume Trail 30 years ago so bicycles could use the trail. He started Flume Trail Bikes in 1999 in the State park at Spooner Lake. The bike rental shop specializes in high quality rental mountain bikes for the flume trail and a shuttle service to make this ride a one way ride. In 2013 the bike shop was moved to Incline Village at the bottom of the Tunnel Creek road next to the Tunnel Creek Cafe. This is the former site of the Ponderosa Ranch theme park. Now you can conveniently park at the end of the ride, get a shuttle to the start of the ride and when back at the bike shop/cafe have great food and cold drinks waiting for you. Most years the Flume is rideable from late May to the first week of November.
