Established in 1945, the Legislative Counsel Bureau is administered by the State of Nevada. The bureau is responsible for assisting the state legislature in finding facts concerning the government, proposed legislation and various other public matters. It operates through the legislative commission and interim finance committee, as well as various divisions. The Legislative Counsel Bureau's administrative division provides accounting, video conferencing, inventory management, data processing, janitorial, and utilities and warehouse operation services for other divisions and the legislature. The bureau's legal division is responsible for issuing legal opinions, reviewing administrative regulations, and drafting bills and resolutions. The Legislative Counsel Bureau maintains office locations in Las Vegas and Carson City in Nevada.
