History
Mary A. Grant, O.D. was originally established as a general optometry office which also provided vision therapy for strabismus (lazy eye), amblyopia (poor vision) and vision-related learning difficulties. Over the next 5 years it became apparent that many children who couldn't read an eye chart or sit still for an eye exam, whether from youth or disability, were not getting the special attention needed to maximize their performance in life. Thanks to many generous recommendations, word went out that I was not only willing but thrilled to see these special patients and the practice turned in that direction. As of 2013, I now accept only those patients who are unable to benefit fully from the services of the many excellent general optometrists and ophthalmologists in the Las Vegas area. Hablamos espanol.
Specialties
We are dedicated to children's vision. We provide comprehensive ocular health and vision exams for children starting at 3 months of age. We also provide non-surgical treatment of strabismus, amblyopia and vision-related learning disorders. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for each child we see, through better clarity of sight and functional vision. We welcome all children, particularly those with special needs (autism, Asperger's, Down's Syndrome, cerebral palsy, brain injury, genetic disorders...). We believe we have the largest selection of children's glasses. Dr Grant fits each child, herself, to insure that no detail in comfort, fit, function, or appearance is overlooked. We are grateful for the many referrals we receive from ophthalmologists, pediatricians, other optometrists, occupational therapists, teachers and parents of patients. It is our mission to provide the highest standard of care in order to honor the trust that has been placed in us.
