The Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center educates, trains and evaluates law enforcement officers. It also regulates statewide training academies and mandated programs to ensure that they meet state certification requirements as established by the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice through the Police Standards Advisory Council. The Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center is located at the Nebraska State Patrol Training Academy. The center employs a staff of more than 20 full- and part-time personnel that includes instructors, staff assistants, accounting clerks and directors. Located in Grand Island, Neb., the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center offers training in defensive tactics, firearms, driving and emergency vehicle operations.
