The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office, established in 1889, is a law enforcement agency that promotes public safety, identifies and solves criminal cases and safeguards citizens rights. It offers extradition, crime prevention, and accident and criminal investigation services. The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office supports the Crime Stoppers program, which is affiliated with the National Crime Stoppers Organization and provides opportunities for citizens to report illegal activities to volunteers of the program. The office employs a team of drug recognition evaluators who conduct detailed and diagnostic examinations of persons arrested or suspected of drug-impaired driving or similar offenses. The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office is located in Gering, Neb.
