Located in Reading, Mass., the Reading Police Department is a law enforcement agency that prevents loss of lives, injuries and property damage. It also provides services for managing traffic and emergency incidents and protecting public and state assets. The Reading Police Department offers several support services, including gun registration, animal control, fingerprinting, concealed weapon permits and parking law enforcement. The department supports the Rape Aggression Defense System (R.A.D.), which is a program of self-defense tactics and techniques for women that provides training related to awareness, prevention, and risk reduction and avoidance.
