The Yellowstone river is a perfect place to begin a new passion and learn to kayak. The water temperature has warmed and the river is at a perfect level for beginners. Our seasoned guides will show you all the in's and out's of the river and how to navigate your boat through the current and waves. Yellowstone River Kayaking Big, beautiful and free-flowing, the Yellowstone River rolls along the north boundary of Yellowstone National Park through the many rapids of upper Paradise Valley. This is a wonderful river for all ages and a perfect river for a first time kayaker. The Yellowstone warms up nicely by mid-summer. There are numerous eddies and rapids for a beginner to play in that are fun, but not intimidating. By mid-summer big, river-smoothed rocks start showing up that make a challenging maze for new paddlers. Yellowstone Kayaking Our sit-on-top kayak trips are designed for first time paddlers or paddlers with little or no river experience who want to learn about kayaking a river and experience the challenge of reading and running rapids in their own boat. Our seasoned instructors will teach the basics of equipment, safety and whitewater technique on the beach and in a quiet eddy out of the current, and then guide you down an appropriate stretch of river. * These trips meet at Absaroka-Beartooth Outfitters corral located 2.5 miles past our office on the road to Jardine.
