Here at Northwest Log Homes, we use the handcrafted scribe-fit log construction, in which each log is individually selected, hand peeled with age-old drawknives, and then full-scribed to the other logs. They each have a full-length long groove and corner notch, and fit to the logs above and below without gaps. This process can take up to three times as long compared to manufactured log homes, but the finished product surpasses the manufactured style in uniqueness, tight fit, and overall strength and beauty. Also known as the Scandinavian scribe, coped, and full-scribe, this method is the highest form of the log builder’s art. Dwayne Keim, as master builder, along with his six dedicated employees, has a combined experience in wood working and construction of over 85 years. This experience along with a commitment to quality means your log home will be built to some of the highest standards in the industry. Our goal is to meet and exceed our customer’s expectations.
