Dr. Hien Nguyen, CEO of Education Logistics, laid the foundation for the company while earning his doctorate in mathematics at MIT. Following this, he developed a class scheduling system for the University of Montana, as well as routes for the local bus service, by applying mathematical algorithms to real life situations. In 1977, as a consultant to the Great Falls School District in Montana, he applied the same algorithms and cut the district bus fleet from 84 to 72 buses. Education Logistics was incorporated under the state of Montana in 1980. Headquartered in Missoula, Mont., the company is located in the Rocky Mountains. With assistance from the University of Montana, Education Logistics has provided solutions to the challenges that school districts face. These solutions come from working closely with over 1200 current clients, who range in size from less than 400, to over 1.8 million students.
