History
The Buxton family started off in the jewelry business in 1955 in Hamilton, Montana. Buxton Antiques operated on 1st Street in Hamilton for thirteen years specializing in estate, antique jewelry, antiques, and fine jewelry. My great grandfather and grandmother always had a love for fine gems. That love was passed down through our family's generations, and still exists today. Eight years later we opened another store. Jem Shoppe was opened in Missoula, Montana downtown in the Hammond Arcade building. My father and grandfather operated the Jem Shoppe until my father expanded a decade later and opened a second store on SW Higgins, which my grandfather operated until his passing. We became the only jewelry business in Missoula to have two locations. My grandfather ran the SW location for over fifteen years until his passing at age 87. He was working full-time until his death in 2011. After my grandfather's death I expanded and moved to the Hip Strip. I renamed the store to honor him.
