The USS Inaugural AM-242 was an Admirable-class fleet minesweeper built by the Winslow Marine Railway and Shipbuilding Company in Winslow, Washington. Commissioned on 30 December 1944, she saw combat in the Pacific Theater during World War II, clearing 82 mines and earning two battle stars.
After being decommissioned in 1946, USS Inaugural was towed to St. Louis in 1968 and transformed into a floating museum. Unfortunately, during the Great Flood of 1993, she broke loose from her moorings, suffered irreparable damage, and sank on the Missouri side of the river, where she remains partially submerged to this day.
