Rhodes 101 Stops is a chain of convenience stores that offers a variety of consumer and petroleum products, as well as customer support services. The company was founded in 1963 as Rhodes Oil Companies, which provided fuel to independent retail service stations and farmers throughout southeast Missouri. As the Gulf Oil Corporation halted its operations in the area, the founder Gene Rhodes expanded his oil company into the gasoline retail market. The company started two bait and tackle stores associated with their existing Pump-Ur-Own stations. In 1989, the company opened its first convenience store, providing an inventory of deli items, snack foods and beverages in addition to the fuel and oil. Rhodes 101 Stops operates more than 15 convenience "stores with products that range from diesel and lubricants to beverages, soups, burgers and cakes.
