Patrick A. Nero, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his residency at The Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency. His medical interests and procedures include gallbladder disease, hernia repair, benign and malignant conditions of the small intestine and colon, minimally-invasive surgery, skin and soft tissue lesions and infections, venous disease and varicose veins. Dr. Nero's goal is to take the time with patients to have a thorough understanding of their disease process and to explain the surgical and non-surgical options available to make informed decisions regarding treatment. From 2008-2016, Dr. Nero practiced with SSM Health Medical Group. He was the Chief of Surgery at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles and the Chair of the Clinical Department of Surgery for SSM Health Medical Group. During his time away from SSM Health Medical Group, Dr. Nero worked at Vein Specialists in Florida, where he had a surgical practice dedicated to the management of venous disease. He also received Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) certification. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Nero provides care to patients age 18 and older.
