Partners for Just Trade was a non-profit organization based in Webster Groves, MO, dedicated to promoting fair trade practices and empowering artisans around the world. Over the course of 17 years, they worked closely with artisans in Peru, Cambodia, Haiti, Cameroon, Nicaragua, and Egypt, providing them with skills training, business support, and access to markets. Through their efforts, many artisans were able to improve their living conditions, send their children to school, and develop strong community relationships.
As fair trade grew in the United States, Partners for Just Trade recognized the changing landscape and decided to dissolve the organization in June 2020. While they focused less on product development and marketing, their strengths lay in education and relationship building. They gifted their resources to the fair trade community and their partners, ensuring that their mission of promoting fair trade values and conscious, sustainable living would continue through other organizations and partnerships.
