Missouri Protection & Advocacy Services, also known as MOPAS, is a federally-mandated system in the state of Missouri which works to protect the rights of individuals with disabilities through legally-based advocacy. Established in 1977, it administers various programs related to social security, traumatic brain injury and voting accessibility. Missouri Protection & Advocacy Services also administers an assistive technology program that includes assistance in accessing technology devices through case management, legal representation and self-advocacy training. It is a member of the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN), which is a nonprofit membership organization that offers legally-based advocacy services to people with disabilities in the United States. Missouri Protection & Advocacy Services maintains a location in Jefferson City, Mo.
