Jeffery relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1979 and joined the Union Local 797. He began to work out of the union hall for various companies who would call into the hall for temporary workers. Later he gained full time employment with C & E Concrete Inc as a cement finisher. He was employed three years C & E Concrete Inc, the company specialized in commercial concrete construction and built many of the landmark hotels during the 1980's. In 1983 he earned a position as a Foreman with Mardian Construction Company Inc Phoenix, Arizona. The company started construction of Cashman Field Stadium which was built for the Las Vegas Stars, the farm team for the San Diego Padres. Other promotions earned during his tenure with Mardian included Foreman to General Foreman & Concrete Superintendent. Jeffery also attended University of Las Vegas Nevada and achieved various certifications in Construction Ethics, Construction Planning, Construction Safety Practice, Construction Scheduling, Construction Management, Concrete Testing and Composition. He relocated to Joplin, Mo in 1994 and started Mid-Con Construction Company with his brother, the late Todd Hermann and began performing small residential and commercial projects. This business soon grew into one of the areas largest concrete construction companies performing concrete projects in excess of 40 Million dollars in its tenure.
