When I was 18 years old, I actually started my first job as a CNA. And seeing the difference I could make in those people's lives really drew me to nursing. Originally, I had thought maybe pharmacy, but my mind changed once I started that CNA job and caring for people. So in sleep medicine, we deal a lot with obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, narcolepsy, restless legs, insomnia. Those are really the big things that we see on a day-to-day basis. I would say I develop relationships with my patients by listening to them and letting them know I understand where they are coming from.
