Kansas City Public Works Department is a part of the city of Kansas City, Mo. It has more than 500 employees and provides a range of services, including garbage recycling, trash collection, bulky item pickup, street maintenance, sweeping and snow removal. The traffic operation section of the public works department replaces and repairs several signs, such as stop and yield, speed limit, warning, parking regulation and street name signs. The code enforcement division controls public welfare by enforcing ordinances. The facilities management division of the department is responsible for the management and operation of city hall, the municipal court building and more than 150 other city-owned facilities.
