Fred Longshaw fell into postcard collecting. Initially, he tracked down a few postcards for his sister-in-law. When she didn't want them all, he kept the extras and sold a few. That starter pile grew into a major hobby that now includes 150,000 postcards.
Longshaw's postcards date back to 1893. He picks them up at estate sales and anywhere else he can find them. Customers also bring them in to his shop. Among his collection, he also has baseball cards, Life magazines, scrapbooks and photographs.
He has neatly categorized his postcards by state and topic, so customer can peruse through them. He also takes his postcards to collector shows throughout the year.
