History
The story of Presbyterians in St. Joseph predates well-known historical events like the Pony Express and the Civil War. Our Presbyterian ancestors organized here in 1854. After meeting in various places for several years, a decision was made to build a new church at Seventh and Jules and it was dedicated in 1872. When the church building developed structural troubles, the old church was raised and a new building was erected in its place and dedicated in 1911. The center building was added in the early 1920s and the education building was added in the 1950s. During the over than 150 years of our witness in this community we face the future as custodians of the church to continue like generations before us to
