The Community Fire Protection District works to provide fire suppression and prevention and emergency medical services. It serves an area of more than 12 square miles and over 50,000 residents. The department offers information regarding child safety seat installations, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and electrical, pool and tornado safety. The Community Fire Protection District conducts various public education and fire safety programs. It provides building and occupancy permits and underground storage tank applications, as well as handles residential smoke detector and stair requirements. The department maintains a communication and dispatch center that coordinates responses to various fire and medical emergency services. It is located in Overland, Miss.
