Birthright is a nationwide organization and confidential pregnancy support service with a location in Eureka that services residents of St. Louis, Franklin and Jefferson Counties. The organization is staffed by volunteers and offers assistance, information and services for the needs of pregnant women and new mothers. Some services and programs include free pregnancy testing, information on adoptions, consultations, as well as maternity and infant clothing. It also offers many resources for housing, educational opportunities and child safety issues. Birthright also refers to community resources for medical, legal and financial assistance, adoption alternatives and professional counseling. To raise community awareness, the group offers a speakers' bureau upon requests. A 24-hour hotline is available at 800-550-4900. The group is assisted by a board of directors.
