Bethany Rural Fire Department and Emergency Response Inc. has been serving the Big Creek Fire District and surrounding areas since its establishment in 1961. With a growing population of approximately 4,200 people, the fire department has expanded to meet the needs of the residents in the Stedman, Wade, and Bethany communities, as well as providing assistance to neighboring areas through a county-wide mutual aid contract.
The Bethany FD is dedicated to serving the diverse backgrounds of its citizens, whether they are long-time farmers or newcomers due to military relocation or job opportunities. As a part of their commitment to the community, Bethany responds to fires in various communities, including Stedman, Vander, Eastover, Wade, Godwin-Falcon, Beaver Dam, Autryville, and Clement.
