Membership in the American Legion Post 312 is open to veterans who served during wartime or people who are currently serving active duty.
The American Legion Post 312 also has a Squadron of the Sons of the American Legion, which is open to descendants of wartime veterans. The Auxiliary unit is for wives, mothers, daughters, sisters and grandmothers of legion members or deceased veterans.
The Post donates American flags, hosts bingo events at the veterans' home, visits nursing homes, and donates money to civic and charitable groups. It was first incorporated in 1919 and, in the 1970s, the legion moved to its current location.
