History
Abeln Floor Systems was established in 1984 by St. Louisan Jim Abeln. With an appreciation of both historic and contemporary architecture as well as a love of beautiful woods of all species, Jim left the architecture field and started Abeln Floor Systems. The company soon gained a reputation for detail-oriented wood floor restoration and refinishing work of the highest quality. With an interest in providing perfectly matched repairs to meet customer needs the company began using reclaimed and antique wood flooring removed from deconstructed local buildings. Reclaiming of wood flooring began in 1988 and has continued to grow every year to date. Abeln Floor Systems has been involved in the restoration of many of St. Louis' most premier historic homes and has garnered much respect for quality craftsmanship and resourcefulness in completing projects considered very challenging by even the most experienced wood floor contractors.
