WTVA is an NBC Television affiliate station located in Tupelo, Miss. The station offers a wide variety of programming to residents of North Mississippi, including local and national news and syndicated national television shows. Its popular shows include Dateline NBC, Law & Order, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Will & Grace, Saturday Night Live and ER. The stations long running Mornin Show debuted on October 30, 1978. Hosts Buddy and Kay Bain were featured and broadcast home-style news, music and entertainment, and quickly became household names in Northeast Mississippi. WTVA also controls and operates WLOV Fox Channel 27 & WKDH ABC Channel 45 by through an LMA. The station traces its roots to 1956 when the FCC officially approved and assigned Channel 9 to Tupelo, then followed with the grant of a construction permit for the then-named WTWV.
