University of Southern Mississippi, founded in 1910, offers education to more than 15,000 students in various graduate, undergraduate and associate degree programs. The various programs offered by the university include aerospace studies, anthropology, sociology, English, foreign languages, history, mass communication and journalism, accountancy, economics, finance and international business, and management and marketing. It also offers courses in computer science, art and design, music, philosophy and religion, political science and paralegal studies, engineering technology, psychology and tourism management.
