The center is located in the northeastern part of the state, known as the Hills regions. Perched on a hillside at the western tip of the Appalachians overlooking Highway 78, the Welcome Center evokes the antebellum South with its beautiful Williamsburg design.

Nice displays in 8-5 welcome areas... Restroom smells of urine , although it looks clean.... Truck parking, but just enough room, would be tough going in & out, when it's busy.......

SpecialtiesWe are all about sharing the faces and stories created by visitors and locals in our area as they enjoy the multitude of experiences we offer. Photos of events, publicity generated about our area, attractions to visit, festivals to attend, toe tapping music to hear - shared here. We cover Florence and Lauderdale County of Alabama as well as the towns of Muscle Shoals, Sheffield and Tuscumbia. We are a part of Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourism and the state of Alabama Tourism. We share events happening in the region in partnership with our tourism friends. We are also part of regional organizations such as Southeast Tourism Society, the Americana Music Triangle and the Natchez Trace Parkway Association. We promote our Frank Lloyd Wright designed home, the Helen Keller Home, FAME Recording Studios, 3614 Jackson Highway recording studio, Billy Reid's fashions as well as Natalie Chain's fashions. Additionally, we have an Indian Mound Museum, art museums and a wide array of sporting events. We are the home of the NCAA Division II National Football Championship and host numerous national bass tournaments with FLW Outdoors, Bassmasters and the Alabama Bass Trail.
