Lee County Schools promotes the academic, physical and social development of students in kindergarten through grade 12 in Mississippi. The district enrolls more than 6,500 students. It operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Lee County Schools has a staff of over 700 employees. In addition, the district operates the Lee County Schools Improvement Center, which offers alternative education for students who transition into public school from a private and institutional setting. It operates through administration, transportation, technology and child nutrition departments. Lee County Schools offers music, art and physical education programs. The district additionally provides various sports activities, such as football, basketball, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, and track and field.
