The business started when James Simmons retired with 30 years of teaching school. He along with good friend Wayne Brown and retired school teacher Aubrey Mitchell formed Saltillo Publishing Co.Inc.BMI to publish the songs James and Aubrey had written. James and Wayne established Lakeland Recording to record the demos for Saltillo Pub. Co.The studio started in Wayne's living room, moved to the back of Tupelo Consignment Music when Wayne married and in 2000 moved to Mooreville, Ms. on five acres of land belonging to James' grandfather. The studio now is owned solely by James. Wayne and James are partners in ASHLEXJAY publishing co.BMI. James is the owner of Britton Boy Publishing ASCAP

We specialize in country,gospel, and pop music. These are the only fields we record. We also transfer media; reel to reel, cassette,LPs, etc. We also put music to song lyrics and record demos for songrighters.
