Tupelo High School
Established in 1914, Tupelo High School is part of the Tupelo Public School District that provides academic services to more than 7,000 students from prekindergarten through Grade 12 throughout northeastern Mississippi. The school s 14-building campus features performing arts center, an advanced technology center, a7,500-seat stadium, three practice fields, gymnasiums and an intramural field. It offers more than 15 subjects, as part of its curriculum, including English, mathematics, science, social studies, psychology, sociology and creative writing. The school s fine arts curriculum includes courses such as band, art, strings, guitar, choral music and theater. Additionally, Tupelo High School s athletic program includes basketball, football, bowling and soccer. The school also has a media center that offers over 50 computers, more than 18,000 volumes, and an assortment of periodicals and nonprint resources. Tupelo High School is a two-time recipient of the Department of Education s Blue Ribbon Award and is located in Tupelo, Miss.
