Northland College
Located in Ashland, Wis., the Northland College and integrates liberal arts studies with an emphasis on the environment. The college was established in 1906 and was formerly known as the North Wisconsin Academy. It has an enrollment of more than 650 students representing several states of the United States and Puerto Rico and various other foreign countries. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It offers various academic programs that include majors in accounting, biochemistry, business, English, environmental science, environmental studies, fine arts and music education, studio art, geosciences, health care management, mathematics, meteorology, native American studies, geology, nursing, global studies, psychology, religion, sociology, veterinary and water science. In addition, it is affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association and offers a variety of sports activities that include baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, hockey, softball, lacrosse, cross country and Nordic skiing.
