Founded in 1906, the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation is a nonprofit health and human services organization. It serves the residents of greater St. Paul, Minn., and features a variety of social welfare programs. The organization works for the academic development of children, as well as promotes independent living skills among adults. The Amherst H. Wilder Foundation offers support services to troubled youths and helps individuals and families maintain long-term housing. It maintains several residential treatment facilities that provide a 24-hour therapeutic environment to children between the ages of 5 and 18. The organization also operates a child guidance clinic that offers outpatient mental health services to children with social, emotional, family and behavioral problems. The Amherst H. Wilder Foundation additionally provides health monitoring, medication assistance, rehabilitation, and health care and supportive services to senior citizens.
