The Marsh Center for Balance and Fitness, now known as the YMCA of the North, was generously gifted to the Y by Ruth Stricker's family in 2020. Due to the challenges brought on by the pandemic, The Marsh has made the decision to close its doors and transition services primarily to the Ridgedale Y, while also offering additional wellbeing offerings at other Y locations. The Y is committed to providing support and wellness programs to the community, honoring Ruth Stricker's legacy and investing in their wellbeing initiative.
Ruth Stricker, a pioneer in the mind-body connection, integrated Eastern and Western philosophies into her life and work. The Y remains focused on providing wellbeing services that extend beyond traditional Y locations, with Ruth Stricker's gift being invested in the Y's wellbeing initiative. With numerous fitness and wellbeing centers across the metro area, the Y is dedicated to helping individuals with their wellbeing needs through membership and virtual participation in their wide range of programs and classes offered through the Virtual Y platform.
