History
The Pioneer Resort is a former logging camp that was converted to a fishing resort and opened to guests in the late 1930s. The Pioneer Resort prides itself for honoring the time-tested and traditional beauty of its heritage, but also in adding comfortable updates. The resort sits on more than 10 wooded acres and is surrounded by 40 acres of evergreen forest. The Pioneer Resort is situated in a natural environment with hills, a retreat from paved roads and the bustle of life. Your hosts, Earl and Margaret McNea, have owned this resort with their family for 40 years, and continue to host with that same family pride.
