Zion is a part of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, whose aim is to be a place where people feel they belong. Its stated mission is to be "an outreach center for Christ-centered health and wholeness." It offers a variety of ministry and faith-growing opportunities for members. In addition to the Sunday services, there are weekday study groups, summer programs for children and senior groups. One notable program is After School at Zion, an outreach ministry to Alice Smith Elementary School, which takes place from 4:15pm to 6pm every Wednesday during the school year. Students can enjoy a snack and participate in outside activities, crafts, study break, games and a family dinner.
