History
In 1986 we began planting grapevines selecting only the cold-hardy hybrids then being developed by the University of Minnesota, and private breeders like Elmer Swenson (who began breeding grapevines in 1943) , Tom Plocher, Mark Hart and others. The new cold hardy hybrids that is the outgrowth of their lifetimes of work has led to the beginnings of our new industry even now growing and expanding across the northern. Plains of the U.S. and beyond. This work is the basis of our wines and as we learn and develop we think our wines become more and more interesting and enjjoyable as well. We invite you to come see us and learn a bit about northern wines and appreciate what they offer and have some fun too.
