History
The Historic R. D. Hubbard House was built by R. D. Hubbard in 1871 when he moved to Mankato. Hubbard later founded Hubbard Milling Company. The house was added to in 1888 and remodeled in 1905 and 1920. In 1938, the house was sold to the Blue Earth County Historical Society, then deeded to the City of Mankato. The R.D. Hubbard House was operated as the County Museum until 1988. During the 1990s, the house underwent extensive restoration. Visitors can now tour the house as it was set in 1905. About 1/4 of the furniture in the house is original to the Hubbard Family. The other pieces in the house are from the early 1900s.
