Hope Church is located just a few blocks away from City Hall on Portland Avenue. The church was founded in 1953, when just a handful of people began worshipping as a Presbyterian congregation at Central Elementary School (located on the senior high school campus). Soon, plans to build were recognized and the offical site was opened in March 1954.
In addition to its Sunday services, the church offers a variety of services to its members and the community. Some of those services include:
- Loaves and Fishes: Four days a week , Hope Church works with Loaves and Fishes, a local charitable organization, to serve dinner to anyone who wishes to enjoy it—no questions asked.
- Vines & Branches, Clothing & More: The Church also accepts clothing and household item donations, which they sell at very affordable prices to the public.
- Hope's School-Age Care: A licensed morning and afternoon child-care program for children in kindergarden through 6th grade. All are welcome.
- Hope Pre-school: The school teaches children age 3 through 5.
English tutoring, interview preparation, and family, adult, student and marriage ministries are also offered.
