Founded in 1926, The History Center of Olmsted County focuses on collecting, preserving and interpreting the heritage of Olmsted County. Based in Rochester, Minn., the organization operates five historic buildings and properties and serves Olmsted County and the Southeastern Minnesota region. It provides a varied presentation of educational/outreach programs, museum exhibits, special events, a research center and archives. Its children and adult educational programs include tours, presentations, classes, off-site activities and more. The organization has the support of the Olmsted County Genealogy Society and partners with various other organizations, including the Mechanical History Round Table and the Daughters of the American Revolution, to name a few.
