Local 1M exists to improve the working conditions, wages and benefits for workers employed in the graphic communications industry throughout the Upper Midwest. Its parent organization, the Graphic Communications Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters GCCIBT, is the largest graphic trades union in the United States and Canada, with almost 60,000 members. The GCCIBT represents workers employed in desktop publishing, electronic prepress, graphic design, CD-ROM manufacture, conventional prep., printing, paper converting, ink manufacture -- all facets of graphic communication.
