Located in Minneapolis, Edina Public Works Department serves more than 47,000 people and offers a variety of services. It maintains various streets and curbs, storm and sanitary sewers, bridges, walking paths and sidewalks, water mains, hydrants, pumping stations and wells. It has various divisions, including engineering, utility, street repair, electrical, equipment operation, and traffic sign and pavement marking. The department s utilities division monitors the water supply and provides maintenance of sanitary sewer and storm systems, including wells and lift stations. Its engineering department oversees various contract maintenance and construction projects. The department s electrical division maintains heating, air conditioning, ventilation and electrical systems, more than 600 roadway light fixtures and traffic signals. Its sign and pavement marking department manufactures, installs and maintains more than 4,500 advisory and regulatory signs. The public works department is operated by the city of Edina in Minnesota.
