History
Chris and Rob Dubnecay were born and bred in the Northside of Chicago, bordering Jefferson and Portage Parks. One of Rob's favorite restaurants growing up was Jay's, and he always found himself seeking his hometown flavor after moving to the Twin Cities in 1991. The closest taste of Chicago was a restaurant in south Minneapolis. So when the owners told him they were moving and needed to sell, he jumped at the opportunity. With Rob's business experience and Chris's project management skills, they took over the Chicago-style restaurant in 2004, changed the menu and renamed it Chris and Rob's Chicago's Taste Authority in 2006. At the same time they also converted an old A&W into a second location in Fridley, and in 2009, they opened the third location in St. Paul on West 7th Street in a 1924 Pullman train car. Their signature Chicago-style all-beef hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, Maxwell Street Polish and other food has been spreading throughout the Twin Cities ever since.
