The Minnesota Board on Aging, also known as MBA, serves senior citizens and their families. Established in 1956, it promotes policies to the state legislature, the governor and state agencies. The board works in collaboration with area agencies on aging throughout Minnesota. The Minnesota Board on Aging administers a health insurance counseling program. It also offers financial assistance and social security benefits. The board provides long-term care consultation services. The Minnesota Board on Aging offers RxConnect, which is a state-sponsored service managed by the Minnesota Board on Aging's Senior LinkAge Line. The board operates the Office of Ombudsman for Long-Term Care, which serves Residents of nursing, boarding care and other adult care homes.
