History
Gary Bastien has 10 years NCAA Division I coaching experience having developed Division I qualifiers in the the throwing events and the decathlon. As an athlete, Gary was U.S. and world ranked, with the third highest score in the United States in 1983, and was an 11 time NCAA Division I, USOC, AAU national qualifier and U.S. team member. This included being a member of the the 1983 Pan American Games team and qualifying for the 1984 U.S. Olympic trials. From this background, Gary learned his craft as a coach and started You're On Athletic Development to give high school and advanced junior athletes access to elite level coaching. So, in 2009, Gary's College team mate, Mark Gardner, who has several years working with youth athletics as both an official and coach, started You're On Athletic Development to give kids more personal coaching to both supplement their school team training and to simply provide training for athletes lacking sufficiently staffed track & field teams.
