Established in 1977, Women's Resource Center of Northern Michigan is a nonprofit and community-based organization. It is funded by the United Way, state and federal grants, fundraising projects, and individual and community donations. The center serves Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties in Michigan. It offers counseling services for child abuse and sexual assault, drug and alcohol problems, marital issues and parenting. Women's Resource Center of Northern Michigan also operates the Children's Learning Center, which is a licensed day care facility. It provides youth educational programs that focus on teen dating violence, sexual harassment, decision making and healthy dating relationships. The center's Domestic Abuse Program includes temporary shelter, support and advocacy services. It additionally provides career counseling, financial assistance, occupational training and trauma counseling services. Women's Resource Center of Northern Michigan maintains a location in Petoskey, Mich.
