History
A former apple orchard was turned into a successful lumber business in Fowler back in the late 1890's. The lumber company was formally started as Wieber Lumber Company in 1906 by Anthony and Frank Wieber, a father and son team. Later Frank's four sons, Carl, Leon, Giles, and Mark took over the business. It was sold in April of 1984 to Dave and Susie Schroeder of St. Johns. Beginning in 2000 it once again became a father and son team when Dave Schroeder and Dave Schroeder II became owners of Wieber Lumber. In 2009 Dave Schroeder II became the sole owner of Wieber Lumber Company. The 115-year-old Lumber company is located on 7 acres within the village of Fowler. The Wieber legacy of high-quality materials, competitive prices, and most importantly customer service continues with the staff today. With over 160 years of experience on staff, Wieber Lumber is well positioned to handle the estimating and quoting needs of our customers.
