The West Bloomfield Trail is a linear park that currently meanders for 4.25 miles through West Bloomfield, Orchard Lake, Keego Harbor and Sylvan Lake. Where trains once rolled, visitors may walk, cross-country ski, or bicycle amidst wildflowers, wetlands, woodlands, commercial districts and residential communities. It is bound on the east by Sylvan Manor Park, where the trail extends east and becomes the Clinton River Trail. On the west, it currently ends at Arrowhead Road. The West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation Commission purchased another 2.38 mile section of the rail corridor from Arrowhead Road to Haggerty Road in December 2010. Development of that section is scheduled to take place in the fall of 2011 to spring, 2012. Once this newly-purchased section is completed, the trail will run east to west across the entire township for just over 6.5 miles.
